Description The user is allowed to associate telemetry interface of an HP E1

WanProbe with an ERM

Symptom Select an interface that supports ERM associations and choose

Edit➤Modify. Then change the selection to an interface that does not

support ERM associations. The modify panel will be updated with the

new interface information and allow you to attempt ERM associations.

Details You can get this problem for any interface that does not support ERM

association. The main difference is that for WanProbes and ATMProbes

you can actually create a useless EASE row on the probe. Entries are cre-

ated on WanProbes for telemetry interfaces than are not usable by Net-

Metrix applications. [Defect ID 0804–024471]

Work-Around Do not associate WanProbe telemetry interfaces with ERMs.

Description If PVCs are removed by cold-starting the probe, Agent Manager

does not allow the ERM to recreate the PVC.

Symptom If you cold start a probe that has PVCs deﬁned that are associated with

an ERM, the ERM will still show that the PVCs are associated after the

cold start. Agent Manager does not allow creating new PVCs with the

same DLCI numbers. [Defect ID 0804–024380]

Work-Around Dissociate the PVCs from the ERM before cold starting the probe.

Description Agent can not be added if an agent name is entered before

telemetry IP address

Symptom If the user enters a value in the Agent Name ﬁeld in Agent Manager

before entering a valid IP address or host name in the Telemetry Address

ﬁeld then an error is displayed: “Cannot determine IP address”

[Defect ID 0804–020354]

Work-Around Press Reset to clear the ﬁelds and reenter the Telemetry IP address or

hostname of the agent before deﬁning a friendly name for the agent.
