As noted above, NetMetrix/UX version 6.0 includes online documenta-

tion, accessible from the primary NetMetrix tools. This documentation is

provided in Portable Document Format (PDF).

The NetMetrix installation includes the Adobe Acrobat Reader

version 3.01 software, which can be used to view the PDF ﬁles. Choosing

Help➤On Tool… from most NetMetrix applications will launch the

Reader and automatically load the correct PDF ﬁle.

As discussed on page 31 of Installation, if you install the Documentation

ﬁleset (NETM-DOC), you will be asked to accept or decline Adobe’s

license terms. If you decline the terms, Acrobat Reader will not be in-

stalled, and you will not be able to launch the online documentation from

NetMetrix tools.

For convenience, a “JumpStation” document is provided in this ﬁle

/usr/netm/doc/netmetrix.pdf; this ﬁle contains hyperlinks for the chap-

ters in the NetMetrix documentation set, and all of the ﬁles include a

bookmark to navigate back to the JumpStation.

To view the JumpStation (once you have installed NetMetrix), give the

following command:

# netm_help.sh

For information on using Acrobat Reader, launch the Reader and choose

Help➤Acrobat Help.

NetMetrix applications that use the graph and table tools, discussed in

Graphs and Tables chapter in User’s Guide, do not use Acrobat online

help. To view the documentation for these applications, you can launch

the JumpStation as described above, and choose the appropriate chapter.
