General Information

● For System and platform requirements for this release, see page 4.

● If you are upgrading from a previous release of NetMetrix, be sure

to read “Upgrading from a Previous Release” on page 3.

● The documentation set has been revised for this release. Four

manuals are available:

– Installation

– Data Collector Reference

– DNA User’s Guide

– User’s Guide

PostScript ﬁles for these manuals are included on the CD-ROM in the

/doc directory. Refer to the README ﬁle in this directory for details.

Adobe Acrobat PDF ﬁles for the NetMetrix/UX documentation set are

included in the /usr/netm/doc directory if you install the Documentation

ﬁleset (NetmDoc). For further information, refer to “Online Documen-

tation” on page 10.

● Many new features in this release require current ﬁrmware in your HP

probes. Firmware is included for most currently-available probe

models, as discussed on page 3.

● On-line technical support information is available on our Web site at

http://www.hp.com/go/netmetrix in the Support area. The Web site

includes:

– support contact information

– a current listing of required/recommended patches

– latest probe ﬁrmware ﬁles

– information on NetMetrix training classes

– contributed/unsupported programs
