LanProbes

Description Some probes allow a maximum of only 20 echo tests, instead of

100 echo tests

Details Some LanProbe models allow up to 20 echo tests per probe, instead of

100 tests per probe. If you attempt to add more than 20 targets, an error

message is shown.

Work-Around None at this time. Updated probe ﬁrmware that corrects this problem is

expected to be available soon. For the latest ﬁrmware, point your Web

Description Fast Ethernet LanProbe: Unsupported Interface Modules on

some Cisco Routers

Details The HP J3458A Fast Ethernet LanProbe option 201 does not support

Cisco interface modules CX-FEIP-1TX or CX-FEIP-2TX. We recommend

that you upgrade to the second-generation Cisco interface module, CX-

FEIP2-2TX. This conﬁguration works with the HP J3458A Fast Ethernet

LanProbe option 201. HP NetMetrix does support other vendors’ inter-

faces using 100BaseT.

Description Avoid mis-applying the HP J3458A Fast Ethernet LanProbe

Standard and Options 200 and 202 Conﬁgurations.

Details The Standard, Option 200 and Option 202 conﬁgurations are designed to

monitor half-duplex (collision domain) Fast Ethernet segments. While

these conﬁgurations of the Fast Ethernet LanProbe can be installed in

Pass-Through Mode on a connection using full-duplex communication,
