Summary of Changes, Earlier NetMetrix Releases

The following summarizes the changes between NetMetrix version 4.6

and 4.7:

● NetMetrix applications have been enhanced to work with the HP Quad

Ethernet LanProbe and HP Ethernet LanProbe model 4986B.

● Extended RMON Module now supports the HP FDDI LanProbe and

Quad Ethernet LanProbe.

● Reporter’s new exception reporting feature lets you conﬁgure reports

such that pages are generated only when exceptional criteria are met.

● The new Reporter Response Proﬁle graph lets you track response and

availability information. Available only for HP-UX.

● Internetwork Response Manager (IRM) can now create and manage

echo-test targets on FDDI LanProbes.

● IRM now provides signiﬁcantly improved multi-manager and multi-

map support. IRM and Internetwork Response Agent (IRA) include

support for a new higher-layer protocol response test, called TCP

Steady State, when using an IRA.

● Most NetMetrix tools now include a Help➤On Tool… menu item, which

lets you view the tool’s documentation online.

● HP-UX version 10.20 is now supported.

● NetMetrix no longer supports OpenView version 3.x.

● Internetwork Response Manager no longer includes support for the

following test protocols: Novell Ethernet, Ethernet CTP, AppleTalk,

Vines Datalink.

● Reporter no longer includes the ability to conﬁgure a report against a

named set. If you open or generate an existing report for a set, Reporter

automatically converts the set to a list of agents.

● Reporter now warns you if you try to generate a baseline report set for

Multi-Segment View.
