DVR Free Space App

The TDS TV DVR Free Space application is a quick and simple way to view the amount of recording space available

on your Whole-Home DVR system. This application can be accessed by any set-top box that you have connected to

the system in your home.

1. Press the MENU button on your remote control.

2. Use the RIGHT ARROW key to navigate to the Recorded TV Menu.

3. Use the DOWN ARROW key to highlight DVR Free Space and press the OK button.

You will be presented with a pie chart indicating the percentage of space available along with the

approximate amounts of High Deﬁnition and Standard Deﬁnition recording time left on your DVR system.

The pie chart will change colors depending on the amount of available space on your DVR system. Free

space is shown in white. Green represents that portion already recorded. The chart will start White to indicate

you have a suitable amount of space available.

Once you reach 94% capacity, the pie chart will turn Red to indicate you are almost out of available recording

space and it is recommended that you delete old/watched recordings to make space for future recordings.

NOTE: The DVR system will automatically begin to delete old recordings to make space for new recordings/

series once the system is full (100% capacity) unless you change the ‘Keep Until’ setting. To do this, please see

the section ‘Record a Single Program Using the Program Guide’ (see Step 6).

4. To exit the application:

a. Press the BACK button on your remote control to return to the previous menu.

b. Press the EXIT TO TV button on your remote control.
