Different video conferencing scenarios

IP VCR recording a call or playing back a recording on an endpoint

An endpoint calls in to the IP VCR and selects the Record this session option from the auto attendant or

the endpoint calls in to the IP VCR after it has been configured to record incoming calls by default.

The IP VCR records the stream from the endpoint. It can also record a data channel at the same time.

There are other ways to record using the IP VCR:

 Call out and record - the IP VCR, via its web interface, calls out to a H.323 endpoint and records its

media streams. In this case the recording console allows you to see what is being recorded which can be

especially useful when recording conferences on an MCU.

 Using a gatekeeper - as described later in this chapter.
