Record a Single Program Using the Program Guide

Use the program guide to record a program that’s currently showing or to schedule a recording for a future program.

You can record programs until their scheduled end or add extra time to the recording. This can be done from any

set-top box in your home.

To record a program until its scheduled end:

1. Press GUIDE on your remote control. Then, use the arrow buttons to move through the listings to a program

that you want to record.

2. Press the RECORD button on your remote control.

A red dot in the program guide cell indicates that the program is scheduled to record. If the program is

currently playing, recording begins immediately. A “Recording” message appears brieﬂy on your screen. And,

the RECORDING light on your DVR-enabled device lights up and remains on while the program is recording.

Note: To schedule a series recording, press the RECORD button twice on the program’s name in the program

guide. Three overlapping dots will appear (see Recording a Series). If you schedule a series recording by

mistake, press RECORD a third time to cancel the recording. Then press RECORD again to schedule the

individual recording.

To record a program with extra time added at the end, here’s what you do:

1. Press GUIDE on your remote control. Then, use the arrow buttons to move through the listings to a program you

want to record.

2. Press the INFO button.

3. On the Program info screen, select Record episode, press the OK button. The Record episode screen appears.

4. To add extra time to the end of your recording (padding) to ensure the entire program or each entire episode

is recorded, use the arrow buttons to highlight the setting under STOP RECORDING, then press OK. The following

list of options appears:

 •Atscheduledtime

 •5minutesafter

 •15minutesafter

 •30minutesafter

 •1hourafter

 •2hoursafter

 •3hoursafter

5. Select the amount of time you want to add, then press OK.

You are returned to the Record episode screen.

Note: Select Don’t change and press OK to keep your current setting.
