SUPPLEMENTAL MATERIAL

When considering the memory configuration of your server, you should observe the following:

■ DIMMs within the blade server can be of a different size.

■ Your selected CPU(s) can have some effect on performance. If two CPUs are used, they must

both be of the same type.

■ Performance degradation can result from the following:

— Mixing DIMM sizes and densities within a pair is not allowed and both DIMMs in the

pair will be logically removed from the memory array

— Unevenly populating DIMMs between CPUs

— Populating channels with an odd number of total ranks (for example, mixing

single-rank and dual-rank DIMMs)

— Using anything other than 8 or 16 DIMMs per CPU properly placed in the system
