To enable the router seeking a free SPID to use for outgoing voice calls, use the POTS outgoing-hunt

EXEC command.

POTS outgoing-hunt

Syntax Description

This command has no arguments or keywords.

Default

The automatic detection of POTS SPIDs is enabled.

Usage Guideline

This command applies to U.S. switch types only.

Example

The following example allows the router to seek a free SPID for outgoing voice calls.

router (config-if)# POTS outgoing-hunt

When this feature is used, the calling party number associated with the call you make may change

depending on the SPID chosen for the voice call.

• Incoming Voice Call

If you always dedicate one channel to data and ﬁnd that you need this feature to make a voice

call, then it is recommended that you dedicate SPID2 for voice and SPID1 for data.
