Network Connection Considerations
controller provides up to 24 virtual channels. Each virtual channel is presented to the
system as a serial interface that can be configured individually. This interface is the physical
media that supports ISDN PRI.
The CT1/PRI network processor module, shown in Figure 4-41, provides a controller for
transmitting and receiving data bidirectionally at the T1 rate of 1.544 Mbps. For wide-area
networking, the CT1/PRI module can function as a concentrator for a remote site.
Following are the T1 specifications:
• Transmission bit rate: 1.544 megabits per second (Mbps) ± 50 parts per million (ppm)
• Output pulse amplitude: 3.0 volts (V) ± 0.6V measured at DSX
• Output pulse width: 324 nanoseconds (ns) ± 54 ns
• Complies with all AT&T Accunet TR 62411 specifications
